Facility
The Hertzog Eye Center is located at 2977 Redondo Ave. in Long Beach, just south of Spring St. and the Long Beach Airport Control Tower. Free parking is provided in the rear of the facility. Handicapped parking and wheelchair access are also available. Please notify our staff for assistance if you require wheelchair entry to the building. Entry to our office is also located in the rear of the building through the door on the left under the sign reading, “Lars H. Hertzog, M.D., F.A.C.S.” You may refer to the map provided on this website under the Directions page for details on convenient access from the 405 freeway.

Office Hours
Weekdays: 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday
Weekends: The office is closed.
On-call: Dr. Hertzog is available after-hours for ophthalmic emergencies every day.
Appointments & Cancellations
Please call 48 hours in advance if you are unable to keep an appointment. If you are a new patient, please expect to spend up to two hours in our office at your first appointment to ensure you receive the quality care you deserve. You should bring the following items with you to your appointment:
- valid photo ID;
- your insurance card;
- glasses and/or contact lenses;
- all eye drops currently being used;
- a list of all prescription medications;
- your medical history, if available.
Accepted Insurances
We accept most private insurances and PPO plans, as well as Medicare. Unfortunately, we do not accept MediCAL or HMO plans. There is a 30% discount offered to all cash-paying patients, and in most cases an estimate of service charges can be offered over the phone. You are strongly encouraged to call and speak with our friendly and skilled staff to discuss any questions regarding coverage or payment.
Financial & Payment Options
As a courtesy, we will bill your insurance if we are a participating provider. Patients are responsible for all balances, including deductibles not covered by insurance. Applicable co-payments are collected at the time of your appointment, and are payable by cash, check, or major credit card. We will gladly accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover.
